THE REPLICA

“Oh god! This thermocol sheet is shrinking, but how?” she was shocked. “Oh dear, maybe it is not resistant to this adhesive. We cannot use it for making this house.” he said to his little girl. She was an 8 year old girl and a 3rd grade student. She was completing her arts assignment with the help of her father. She had to make something from thermocol and she chose to make a house. Her dad had an off from his duty that day and so, he was there to help her with her task. She always had love for arts and so she would always participate in such stuffs, with so much excitement. But her dad had been a greater motivation for her. For every task she would get in her school, he was her first resort and sometimes the last one too.

They couldn’t use that sheet since it was damaged, though accidentally, and hence they made it with another one. It turned out to be a very beautiful house. Actually, they had created a replica of their  own house, their beloved home. It was the first ever article she had made of such kind. Also, it was a way of those father and daughter to spend some quality time together. As the time passed by their tasks changed but their way of spending time together remained the same. They spent time trying various dishes in kitchen, some experiments with their house, with some other bigger things. It was a great time.

Today, when she was helping her daughter with her school arts assignment, again she was making a thermocol house. But this time, the thermocol sheet did not damage, no extra sheet was required, but she made the same house as she had made the one with her father and the grandfather of her daughter. Unfortunately, he was not there today to see it, but those memories were still with her. She was having a great time with her daughter, showering all her love. She was reliving her childhood, but this time, her role had been changed. This time, she was at her father’s place trying to give her daughter a lovely childhood just like the one she had, creating memories as lovely as her father had created for her, now for her daughter ,in her place.
